Branding & business card design for a furniture designer

From home furniture, to custom architectural joinery or a complete cafe fit-out, Gratton Design’s work is meticulous and always made of the best materials.
After a few years of DIY branding the Gratton Design identity had become fragmented and didn’t truly represent the uniqueness of their design solutions. They provided a Pinterest board of admired brand identities, and trusted me to develop a fully-realised concept.
I set about to design a mark that accentuated their business/family name and offer a subtle nod toward their specialty: tables and chairs (can you see it?). While their budget didn’t quite extend to producing their business card from actual timber, I improvised – photographing a handful of timber textures to use as a background and recommending a local printer who could offer an uncoated ‘woody’ feeling card stock.
The Grattons were thrilled with the result, and I was lucky to grab a sample of the finished business card – they were all but snapped up by adoring customers at their Finders Keepers market stall soon after.
